The Long Tail

Starting with the Netflix example, Chris Anderson does an indepth analysis of how online companies are catering to that segment of customers which is totally overlooked by brick and mortar shops. The retail shops have limited space and can accommodate the best sellers to make a profit, whereas online companies like Netflix can leverage internet to make available those services/products which might sound interesting to a very small (and underserved) segment of customers.
